Date: Jan 17, 2018

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 17 Jan 18 – Currently, mainstream transaction prices for Chinese vanadium-nitrogen alloy stand at RMB287,000-290,000/t (USD57.89-58.49/kg V) EXW D/P, up by RMB27,000/t (USD5.45/kg V) from last week.  As tight supply of raw material vanadium pentoxide flake is hard to improve in short time, market participants generally hold stable attitudes and expect that prices for Chinese vanadium-nitrogen alloy would keep firm in the coming week.

A producer in North China said, “The market guide price for vanadium-nitrogen alloy released by Panzhihua Steel recently stood at RMB280,000/t (USD56.47/kg V) and the current transaction prices for the material are almost RMB280,000-290,000/t (USD56.47-58.49/kg V) EXW D/P in the spot market. As consumers’ purchase still did not follow up effectively, the prices began holding at a high level, and I think that prices for Chinese vanadium-nitrogen alloy would keep firm in the coming week.” They offer RMB290,000/t (USD58.49/kg V) EXW D/P now and can accept a bid of RMB5,000/t (USD1.01/kg V) at most according to purchase volume and payment terms of customers, refusing orders at prices below the lowest price.
