NOBLE ALLOYS MIDWEEK: Ferro-vanadium price pushes higher on robust trader, consumer buying

Most noble alloys showed strength during the first half of the week in Europe, amid increased activity on the spot market, with ferro-vanadium prices leading the way higher.

“It’s been a busy week so far, and consumers still don’t have all of November and December tonnages covered, so we could see another round of buying come the end of the month,” a trader source said.  Ferro-vanadium prices jumped 4.5% to $35.40-37.10 per kg, delivered duty-paid in Europe, up from $34-35.35 per kg previously. “It’s not just about frame contracts; the spot market is heating up,” a producer said.
