Chinese ammonium metavanadate prices increase

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 23 Jan 19 – Currently, mainstream prices for Chinese ammonium metavanadate 98%min increase to RMB220,000-223,000/t (USD14.96-15.17/lb V) Inc-VAT EXW D/P, up by RMB13,000/t (USD0.88/lb V) from last week. Some producers were forced to halt production for environmental protection policy. Insiders believe prices would keep firm in the coming week.

A producer in North China quotes ammonium metavanadate 98%min at RMB225,000/t (USD15.30/lb V) at present, up by RMB10,000/t (USD0.68/lb V) from last week. “We can’t produce with full capacity for the environmental protection policy. For firm bids, we can at most accept a counteroffer of RMB2,000/t (USD0.14/lb V) and the buyer shoud wait for one week,” said the source. Their last deal was made two weeks ago, when they sold 15t at RMB200,000/t (USD13.60/lb V). He believes prices would be firm in the coming week.
