Chinese ammonium metavanadate prices increase

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 16 Jan 19 – Currently, mainstream prices for Chinese ammonium metavanadate 98%min increase to RMB207,000-210,000/t (USD14.19-14.40/lb V) Inc-VAT EXW D/P, up by RMB14,000/t (USD0.96/lb V) from two weeks ago. Affected by environmental inspections, some ammonium metavanadate producers were forced to halt production, leading to decline of supply. Insiders believe prices of this material would keep increasing in the coming week.

A producer in North China quotes ammonium metavanadate 98%min at RMB210,000/t (USD14.40/lb V) at present, up by RMB15,000/t (USD1.03/lb V) from two weeks ago. “I would rather to keep the stock at the moment and don’t accept any counteroffer. I believe prices will increase to RMB220,000/t (USD15.08/lb V) before Spring Festival,” said the source. Their last deal was made early this week, when they sold 10t at RMB207,000/t (USD14.19/lb V).
