Chinese vanadium nitride prices decrease

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 20 Mar 19 – Currently, mainstream prices of Chinese vanadium nitride are RMB320,000-323,000/t (USD61.89-62.47/kg V) EXW D/A 180 days, down by RMB17,000/t (USD3.29/kg V) from last week. The demand keeps weak and produces have to drop their quotation to promote sales. Considering the cost keeps high, insiders believe prices of this material would be steady in the coming week.

A producer in South China quotes vanadium nitride at RMB325,000/t (USD62.86/kg V) and can sell at RMB324,000/t (USD62.67/kg V) for firm bids at present, down by RMB16,000/t (USD3.09/kg V) from late last week. “Current prices of raw material vanadium pentoxide flake 98%min are around at RMB220,000/t (USD15.17/lb V) and the cost of vanadium nitride is atleast RMB323,500/t (USD62.57/kg V),” said the source. Considering the cost keeps high, he believes prices of this material would be firm in the coming week. Their last deal was made early last week, when they sold 20t at RMB345,000/t (USD66.73/kg V).
