Date: Feb 27, 2019

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 27 Feb 19 – Currently, mainstream prices of Chinese vanadium nitride are RMB357,000-360,000/t (USD66.28-66.84/kg V) EXW D/A 180 days, up by RMB5,000/t (USD0.93/kg V) from late last week. Most producers are producing according to orders and the supply keeps tight. Insiders believe prices of this material would increase slightly in the coming week.

A producer in South China quotes vanadium nitride at RMB362,000/t (USD67.21/kg V) at present and can accept a discount for RMB2,000/t (USD0.37/kg V) for orders more than 10 tons, up by RMB5,000/t (USD0.93/kg V) from last Friday. “One of our regular clients sent inquirie to me and wanted to buy 10t of this material at no more than RMB355,000/t (USD65.91/kg V) this Monday. I refused him directly. Actually, the cost has increased to RMB357,000/t (USD66.28/kg V) and the profit is only 0.8% now,” said the source. Their last deal was made early this week, when they sold 10t at RMB360,000/t (USD66.84/kg V). Considering the profit is thin, he believes prices of this material would increase by RMB5,000/t (USD0.93/kg V) in the coming week.
