Chinese vanadium nitride transaction prices hit record high

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 30 Oct 18 – Mainstream prices for Chinese vanadium nitride stand at RMB817,000-820,000/t (USD152.55-153.11/kg V) Inc-VAT EXW D/A six months at present, up by RMB17,000/t (USD3.17/kg V) from last week. As downstream rebar prices continued to rise, most vanadium nitride suppliers willing to hold the prices firm, and the market are seeing steady transactions. Chinese vanadium nitride prices are expected to keep firm in the coming week.
A producer in North China claimed they offer vanadium nitride at RMB820,000/t (USD153.11/kg V) Inc-VAT EXW D/A six months at present, up by RMB20,000/t (USD3.73/kg V) from last week, and they have concluded deals at the price. He said, “We mainly supply for steel mills, and have signed a supply contract with a steel mill to supply 50t of vanadium nitride at RMB820,000/t (USD153.11/kg V). Currently, the market prices reach a high level, so we will keep prices stable in the coming week and will raise them after bulk orders are concluded.” He revealed that they are able to accept the high prices for the raw material vanadium nitride as they are profitable because of current high prices for downstream rebar. He predicted that Chinese vanadium nitride prices would keep firm in the coming week.
