Chinese vanadium-nitrogen alloy prices continue soaring up

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 21 Jun 18 – Affected by tight supply of raw material vanadium pentoxide, prices for all Chinese vanadium products moved up crazily. Mainstream prices for Chinese vanadium-nitrogen alloy V77N16 rise to RMB342,000-345,000/t (USD68.63-69.23/kg V) EXW D/A six months now, up sharply by RMB37,000/t (USD7.42/kg V) from last week. Market participants hold strong intentions to expect the prices up. It is expected that prices for Chinese vanadium-nitrogen alloy V77N16 would rise to RMB350,000/t (USD70.23/kg V) EXW D/A six months in the coming week.

A producer in North China claimed that the lowest price for vanadium-nitrogen alloy V77N16 they can accept now stands at RMB342,000/t (USD68.63/kg V) EXW D/A six months, up by RMB37,000/t (USD7.42/kg V) from last week. He said, “Now consumers send enquiries actively and we have received enquiries from four consumers so far within this week, and one of them intended to purchase 10t at RMB342,000/t (USD68.63/kg V) EXW D/A six months, while others refused to purchase at the prices. We are concluding this deal now.” The source expected that prices for Chinese vanadium-nitrogen alloy V77N16 would continue rising to over RMB350,000/t (USD70.23/kg V) EXW D/A six months in the coming week.
