Chinese vanadium pentoxide flake prices increase

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 1 Mar 19 – Currently, mainstream prices for Chinese vanadium pentoxide flake 98%min are RMB242,000-245,000/t (USD16.76-16.97/lb V) EXW D/A 180 days, up by RMB5,000/t (USD0.35/lb V) from last week. Considering the supply keeps tight, insiders believe prices would be firm in the coming week.
A consumer in South China claimed that the price of vanadium pentoxide flake 98%min they received from one of their regular suppliers is RMB245,000/t (USD16.97/lb V) and can sell at RMB244,000/t (USD16.90/lb V) for firm bids, up by RMB4,000/t (USD0.28/lb V) from last week. “It’s hard to find products for immediate shipment from producers. We can only buy from traders. According to the current contract we signed for downstream vanadium nitride with our clients, we can accept this price level for raw material,” said the source. He added, they bought 30t at RMB244,000/t(USD16.90/lb V) late this week. Considering the supply keeps tight, he believes prices of this material would be firm in the coming week.
