Dong Nai Rubber Corporation’s Restructuring Efforts Praised

NDO – Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh has said that she was impressed with the performance of Dong Nai Rubber Corporation (Donaruco) in 2019 despite a falling workforce and growing area.
The company, a subsidiary of the Vietnam Rubber Group (VRB), saw its number of workers decrease by 1,000 compared with 2018 and has smaller plantations but its operating revenues have still gone up by 30% this year.In 2019 Donaruco have harvested 26.6 million tonnes of latex and replanted 800 hectares of new rubber trees.Visiting the firm on December 2, Thinh said these are two important criteria assigned by its parent company VRB and Donaruco has exceeded the set out targets.The Vice President also commended the company’s efforts to maintain the average salary for its workers at a decent level of VND8 million (nearly US$345) a month despite latex prices falling sharply in recent years.She asked the company to continue taking better care of its workers, especially female workers, while applying new technologies to enhance the performance of its production and business.Donaruco is currently employing 4,540 workers and managing 34,000 hectares of rubber plantations.
