Electricity Has Been Restored In These Cape Town Areas Following Eskom’s Fault

On Saturday, 12 March, Eskom announced that large parts of the CBD and surrounding areas were without electricity due to a fault at its Tafelbaai substation.
The power utility confirmed that its operators were on-site in order to conduct inspections to determine the nature of the fault.
Areas that were affected are Areas 2, 7, 9 and 15, which includes the CBD and surrounds, the Atlantic Seaboard and the southern suburbs.
According to EWN, the electricity in parts of the CBD and surrounding areas has been restored after being left without power for a good couple of hours on Saturday.
Spokesperson Isaac Mangena said these outages have offered opportunities for vandals and thieves to target their operations. Eskom has confirmed that loadshedding will continue at stage 2 until Monday morning, 14 March.
Theft and vandalism also played a part in leaving residents without power for days.
