BEIJING (Asian Metal) 4 Feb 20 – Currently, mainstream prices for European vanadium pentoxide flake 98%min stand at USD5.2-5.5/lb V2O5 in warehouse Rotterdam, up by USD0.1/lb V2O5 from last week. Suppliers refuse to sell at low price level and it’s hard to find cheap resources. Considering most consumers are watching the market, insiders believe that prices of European vanadium pentoxide flake would stay firm in the coming week.

A producer in Middle Europe quotes their vanadium pentoxide 98%min at USD5.5/lb V2O5 in warehouse Rotterdam and they can accept USD5.4/lb V2O5 for firm bids, up by USD0.2/lb V2O5 from last week. “Our last deal was made two weeks ago, when we sold 40t at USD5.2/lb V2O5. We are in no hurry to accept new orders as the cost keeps high. To be frank, we would rather hold the inventory and wait prices rebounding to USD6.0/lb V2O5. Considering inquiries keep active in European market now, he believes that prices of European vanadium pentoxide flake would be firm in the coming week.

With an annual production capacity of 30,000t, they produced 26,000/t in 2019, up by 1,700t from 2018. They expect to produce 2,170t in February, the same as January, holding 2,000t of stocks now, unchanged from last month.

A producer from South Asia quotes their vanadium pentoxide flake 98%min at USD5.3/lb V2O5 in warehouse Rotterdam and they won’t accept any discount for firm bids as they are lack of inventory now, up by USD0.3/lb V2O5 from last week. “Our last deal was made at the end of January, when we sold 40t at USD5.0/lb V2O5 to one of our regular European clients. We are in no hurry to accept new orders during the coming week as we are building stocks now,” said the source. Considering the supply situation stays tight, he believes that prices of European vanadium pentoxide flake would keep firm in the coming week.

With a production capacity of 600tpy, they produced 550t in 2019, up by 50t from 2018. They expect to produce 50t in February, unchanged from January, holding no stocks now, down by 40t from last month.
