BEIJING (Asian Metal) 9 Dec 19 – Currently, mainstream prices for European vanadium pentoxide flake 98%min stand at USD5.0-5.3/lb V2O5 in warehouse Rotterdam, down by USD0.1/lb V2O5 from last week. Consumers only make purchase according to urgent need and the market stays in a stalemate. Considering the demand keeps soft, insiders believe prices of European vanadium pentoxide flake would be steady in the coming week.

A trader from East Europe claimed the current quotation for vanadium pentoxide 98%min he received stands at USD5.4/lb V2O5 in warehouse Rotterdam and can buy at USD5.2/lb V2O5 for firm bids, down by USD0.2/lb V2O5 from last week. “It’s no meaning for suppliers to insist on their high quotation now as the supply situation keeps loose in European market. We just bought 20t at USD5.2/lb V2O5 last Friday. When the supplier dropped their bottom prices by USD0.2/lb V2O5 from one week ago, then we closed the deal immediately,” said the source. Considering the market keeps in quiet, he believes prices of European vanadium pentoxide flake would keep steady in the coming week.

With a regular trading volume of 60tpm, they sold 700t in 2018 and have sold 680t so far this year. They expect to sell 40t in December, down by 20t from November, holding 40t of stocks now.

A trader from South Asia quotes their vanadium pentoxide flake 98%min at USD5.2/lb V2O5 in warehouse Rotterdam and can sell at USD5.1/lb V2O5 for firm bids, down by USD0.1/lb V2O5 from one weeks ago. “We are in urgent need for capital, so we sold out all the 40t of vanadium pentoxide flake 98%min stocks last Thursday at USD5.1/lb V2O5,” said the source. He added, “The goods will delivere on board in Rotterdam in the coming two weeks.” As the market stays in quiet, he believes prices of European vanadium pentoxide flake 98%min would keep firm in the coming week.
