Evraz Q4 Steel, Vanadium Sales Rise

A summary of production and sales figures from Russian steelmaker and vanadium producer Evraz for the October-December quarter of 2021, as announced on Monday January 31.

In brief Crude steel production at Evraz’ Russian and North American assets remained almost unchanged in the fourth quarter, totaling 3.38 million tonnes, down by 0.6% compared with the previous quarter, mainly because of maintenance outages in North America during November. Total sales of steel products, however, increased by 7% over the same comparison, to 3.19 million tonnes driven by higher finished steel products sales. Sales of vanadium products surged by 33% quarter on quarter to 3.81 million tonnes, primarily due to higher demand in Europe and North America, Evraz said. Sales, Evraz CIS* External sales of steel products grew by 7.8% quarter on quarter, to 2.76 million tonnes, driven by significant growth of finished steel products sales. Finished steel products sales surged by 14.7% quarter on quarter, to 1.4 million tonnes.
