Golden Deeps (ASX:GED) Hits Copper Mineralisation At Khusib
Golden Deeps (GED) has commenced reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the historic Khusib Springs copper-silver deposit in Namibia
The roughly 18-hole RC program is targeting high-grade copper-silver mineralisation over 750 metres in the upper part of the deposit
So far, GED has intersected copper carbonate mineralisation in two holes
Historic intercepts at Khusib include 4.5 metres at 35.19 per cent copper, 3.67 per cent lead, 2.23 per cent zinc and 2090.91 g/t silver from 30 square metres
Once drilling is complete, GED will move its drill rig to the historic Nosib copper-vanadium mine, where 11 RC holes are planned on three traverses

Golden Deeps (GED) has commenced reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the historic Khusib Springs copper-silver deposit in Namibia.
The roughly 18-hole RC program is targeting high-grade copper-silver mineralisation over 750 metres in the upper part of the deposit, adjacent to historic stopes.
So far, GED has intersected copper carbonate mineralisation in two holes, which were drilled into the up-dip extension near shallow surface workings.
Historic intersections at Khusib include 4.5 metres at 35.19 per cent copper, 3.67 per cent lead, 2.23 per cent zinc and 2090.91 g/t silver from 30 square metres.
According to GED, the mine itself is considered analogous with the Tsumeb mine some 40 kilometres to the northwest.
Notably, between 1905 and 1996, Tsumeb reportedly produced 30 metric tonnes of ore grading 4.3 per cent copper, 10 per cent lead and 3.5 per cent zinc
In addition to targeting mineralisation, current drilling at Khusib will also test for up-plunge extensions to the deposit, which was previously mined from underground but not extended to surface.
Study confirms remanent copper-silver mineralisation
Late last year, GED engaged South Africa-based geological consultancy Shango Solutions to complete a study of Khusib Springs.
The study was aimed at validating historic drilling data and digitally capturing hardcopy mine plans.
After completing the research in January this year, GED says the study demonstrates the presence of remanent zones of copper-silver mineralisation on the margins of mined stopes as well as at depth.
Further drilling planned for Nosib
Once drilling at Khusib Springs has been completed, GED will move the drill rig 16 kilometres west to the historic Nosib copper-vanadium mine, where it is planning 11 RC holes on three traverses.
Golden Deeps shares are in the grey, last trading at 1.2 cents at 1:02 pm AEST.
