Hongchang Vanadium to resume ammonium metavanadate production in May

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 21 Mar 19 – Shanyang County-based Hongchang Vanadium Co., Ltd., which has been out of production for two years, plans to resume ammonium metavanadate production in early May, 2019. At full capacity, the company can supply 500t of ammonium metavanadate 98%min to Chinese vanadium market every year.
“Due to the severe environmental protection situation, we have suspended production for about two years, and upgraded production equipment during the period. It’s expected that we could resume production in early May this year,” a source from the company said. He disclosed that if concluding sufficient orders, they can supply up to 500t of ammonium metavanadate 98%min to market each year. “The production cost of ammonium metavanadate in our region is basically around RMB120,000/t (USD17,964/t) and now we sell the products at about RMB200,000/t (USD29,939/t), so the gross profit is relatively considerable, which is the reason why we are actively preparing for the resumption of production,” he added.
