It’s A Uranium-Vanadium Drilling Bonanza At Uvre’s East Canyon Project

A diamond core drill program has kicked off to test extensions of high-grade uranium and vanadium mineralisation sampled within historical workings at East Canyon.
In the past, these sample results have returned up to 1.27% U3O8 and 9.21% V2O5, which is why Uvre (ASX:UVA) has decided to send out a new diamond core and rotary rig to test up to 25 drillholes at both the Bonanza and None Such prospects, following up this encouraging exploration work.
While drilling will initially focus on targeting these shallow prospects around 50m of depth, the total number of holes may change based upon results observed and obtained as drilling proceeds.
A rare earths surprise
Earlier this week portable XRF readings of samples not only confirmed the presence of uranium and vanadium mineralisation in all five holes, it also indicated the presence of rare earths elements topping out at 4,274ppm total rare earth oxides (TREO).
While pXRF are indicative and are in no way a replacement for laboratory assays, the results still provide UVA with a picture of what is present at the None Such prospect.
What else is on the cards?
Down the track, UVA says sampling will employ visual interpretations, hand-held Scintillometer measurements, as well as X-ray fluorescence (XRF) detectors to evaluate uranium and other possible economic minerals content.
Chemical analysis will be carried out on core samples by a certified assay laboratory for comparative analysis and quality assurance/quality control.
