Ministry Of Commerce: Any U.S. New Tariffs Would Escalate Trade Friction

Gao Feng, spokesman of Ministry of Commerce noted on 22 August that any U.S. new tariffs will escalate the trade friction although the U.S. postpones imposing additional tariffs on some Chinese goods. China considers U.S. action as a violation of the consensus made by two presidents in Osaka and firmly opposes it.If the U.S. acts willfully, China will be forced to take countermeasures. China hopes the two nations could meet each other halfway and work out solutions.
