Ministry of Commerce: Cancelling Access Restrictions on Foreign Investments Excluded in Negative List

On 2 July, Tang Wenhong, Foreign Investment Director of Ministry of Commerce, stated that the ministry is working on cancellation of access restrictions on foreign investments that are not included in the negative list and will strictly carry out the principle of allowing access for those were not prohibited. 

Several days ago, China released 2019 national and pilot free trade zone negative lists, further promoting open-up of agricultural industry, mining industry, manufacturing industry and service industry. After revising for five times in six years, the national negative list of foreign investment access only contains 40 items while the pilot free trade zone version contains 37 items, down dramatically from 190 items of six years ago. 

At the press conference of stabilizing foreign trade, stabilizing foreign investments and promoting consumption on 2 July, Tang Wenhong said that Ministry of Commerce is cancelling access restrictions on foreign investments excluded in negative list.
