Ministry Of Commerce: China, U.S. Have In-depth Discussion On Range Of Additional Tariffs Cancellation

On 14 November, Gao Feng, spokesman of the Ministry of Commerce, answered questions about China-U.S. trade talks at the routine press conference. According to him, China has highlighted repeatedly that the trade friction arose from additional tariffs and should be put to an end by cancelling additional tariffs, which is a significant condition for the two sides to reach an agreement. The cancellation of additional tariffs is in the interest of producers and consumers, that of China and the United States and that of the world. If China and the United States reach the first-stage agreement, the range of additional tariffs cancellation should give full expression to the importance of the first-stage agreement and the importance should be weighed by the two sides together. China and the United States are having in-depth discussion on such issues.
