Ocean Freight May Increase By 20% Due To The Tight Of Shipping Space From Next Year On

From January next year, ocean freight may increase by 20% due to the tight of shipping space. Shopee prohibits sellers from asking buyers to return packages to mainland China.

The sulfur limit of IMO (international maritime organization) will come into effect on January 1, 2020. According to the new regulations, from January 1, 2020, all ship fuels will be required to meet sulfur content, from the current limit of 3.5%m/m to no more than 0.5%m/m.

This new regulation also will bring important effect to shipping company and cargo owner, freight forwarder, foreign authoritative media points out, sea freight will rise about 20% by then.
