BEIJING (Asian Metal) 14 Jun 19 – Panjin Yilong Metallurgical Technology Co., Ltd., with an annual production capacity of 1,000t of vanadium nitride, is in pilot production now and will start its formal production in late June, a source told Asian Metal.

“We are in pilot production now and expect to normally receive orders two weeks later. We can ensure the monthly output of 50-60t if all is well,” a source from the company said.

The company is located in Panjin, Liaoning and is the only enterprise in Northeast China to produce vanadium nitride. It uses nitrogen protection technology of fully automatic push-board kiln and totally produced 200t of the material in 2018. The company has been in device debugging from the beginning of 2019 till now.

At present, mainstream prices for Chinese vanadium nitride are RMB200,000-203,000/t (USD37.6-38.1/kg V) EXW D/A 180 days, up by RMB25,000/t (USD4.7/kg V) from last week. As the production costs hold high, most producers don’t receive orders at low prices. Given that the market players strongly expect the increase of prices, it is believed that Chinese vanadium nitride market would see adjustments of costs and mainstream market prices would keep firm in the coming week.
