Peru Sees Increase In Production Of Most Exported Metals

The production of the eight most exported metals in Peru showed an increase between January and May this year compared to the same period in 2020, the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) reported on Sunday.
According to figures from Minem’s Mining Statistical Bulletin (BEM), copper grew by 17.1%, gold by 3.7%, silver by 40.9%, zinc by 66.6%, lead by 30.2%, iron by 101.9%, tin by 78.2%, and molybdenum by 13%, in the said period.
The economic revival allowed the mining sector to progressively resume all its activities, including production, the bulletin stated, noting the positive performance of the industry.
