Surefire Resources Welcomes Highly Experienced MD

Surefire Resources NL (ASX:SRN) has a new managing director, with highly experienced natural resources executive Paul Burton to step into the role on Monday, February 6, 2023.

Burton’s career spans 30 years in exploration and mining for a range of different commodities. He has worked throughout Australia and internationally and is one of the most experienced professionals in critical minerals projects, notably vanadium and its products, and battery minerals.

He has managed successful corporate activities, mineral exploration, feasibility, FEED and research study programs and in training and mentoring staff.

Burton has built his skills and experience with senior roles at companies including Anglo American, De Beers Ltd, Normandy Mining Ltd and Minotaur Exploration Ltd (ASX:MEP).

Most recently, Burton was instrumental in resource discoveries at TNG Ltd (ASX:TNG), now TiVan Ltd, where he established a portfolio of quality exploration assets driving the company to a market capital value in excess of $100 million. He developed the company’s critical mineral vanadium and battery mineral alternative energy strategies.

Surefire executive chairman Vladimir Nikolaenko said of the appointment, “The board and I are delighted with the appointment of Mr Burton at this pivotal time as we advance the company’s key vanadium projects at Victory Bore and Unaly Hill, Perenjori Iron Ore and our emerging Yidby gold discovery.”
