Fastmarkets’ price assessment for vanadium pentoxide of $7.5-8.5 per lb, in warehouse, is up 25 cents at both ends of the range from $7.25-8.25 per lb previously.
A sale was reported at $8.75 per lb but was viewed as an outlier in the context of material being readily available to consumers and was not considered in the final assessment.
Two producers saw the market at $7.25-8.25 per lb, unchanged from the previous week’s assessment.
A trader made a purchase at $8.5 per lb and received an offer at $8.65 per lb, while also receiving bids at $8.5 per lb. He assessed the market at $8.5 per lb.
A second trader heard of a deal concluded at $8.5 per lb and received a bid at $8.1 per lb.
Spot liquidity picked up – market participants are slowly coming back to the market following the summer holiday in Europe.
Business was concluded up to the new high end of range, which is also in line with bids, assessments and deals reported to Fastmarkets. We await further deals from other parties before moving the range any further.
