Unions huddle with workers after Eskom’s latest wage offer

Unions representing Eskom staff in ongoing wage talks are expected to head back to workers with Eskom’s latest wage offer on Thursday.
However, both Eskom and the unions remained tight lipped on the details and terms of the latest offer.
NUM spokesperson Livhuwani Mammburu told Fin24 that Eskom made an offer on Thursday, but said the union could not disclose the details before consulting members for a mandate.
“We can confirm that there is an offer, but we are going to return to our members to seek a mandate of acceptance or rejection. Once we have received a mandate from our members we will return to Eskom with a response next week,” said Mammburu.
