BEIJING (Asian Metal) 3 Jul 19 – Xieli New Type Material Processing Plant recently put into operation a new ammonium metavanadate production line. With the new 360t production capacity included, the company expands its total annual production capacity to 1,560t. The new production line is under equipment commissioning now.

“Our old production line has a total production capacity of 1,200t but its working conditions are not very good. So we built a new line which can produce 30tpm of ammonium metavanadate on average when operating at full capacity,” a source from the company said. “At present the new line is under commissioning and will go into formal production in one week. We plan to produce 40t of ammonium metavanadate 98%min in July,” the source added.

Located in Ji’an, Jiangxi, the company produces ammonium metavanadate mainly out of V-contained wastes or V-contained flue dusts, and is one of the small number of ammonium metavanadate producers in China using V-contained wastes as raw material. Data from Asian Metal show that currently in China ammonium metavanadate produced out of V-contained wastes accounts for about 16% of the total ammonium metavanadate output.

Currently in China, mainstream transaction prices for ammonium metavanadate 98%min stay at RMB115,000-118,000/t (USD7.7-7.9/lb V) Inc-VAT EXW D/P, down by RMB2,000/t (USD0.1/lb V) from last Friday. Owing to weak demand in summer, many market players feel pessimistic about future market trend, believing that prices for Chinese ammonium metavanadate would remain relatively stable in the coming week.
